The northern province of Golestan has become one of the main tobacco producers in the country.

According to official statistics, more than 1,000 hectares of land across the province were under tobacco cultivation during the past Iranian calendar year (March 2024-March 2025), and approximately 1,800 tons of the crop were harvested.
